As the chair lady of the National Elections Commission announced the start of the campaign for the upcoming general and presidential elections, the youth league of the Coalition of Democratic Change was seen toting a casket with Amb Joseph N. Boakai’s image on it.

CDCians, like other parties, gathered in their numbers to celebrate the announcement of the start of the campaign in the nation’s capital on August 05, 2023. What others expected to have been a joyous mood turned precautionary when the youthful population in the CDC matched the principal streets of Monrovia with a casket on their shoulders.

This action from the CDC youth league has caused serious havoc online among social media users. The motive for using a living man’s image with a caption of “Rest In Peace” is yet to be understood by the public.

Members of the public have criticized their actions and called on the government to put things under control to have free, fair, and transparent elections.

Meanwhile, the national campaign chairman of the Coalition of Democratic Change has condemned the action of the youth league and asked them to desist from things that might lead to confusion.
