Nimba County Senator Jeremiah Koung has addressed remarks made by Senator Prince Y. Johnson, shedding light on their disagreements and expressing support for the establishment of a War and Economic Crime Court. Koung emphasized the importance of accountability and the pursuit of justice for past crimes while clarifying his background as a businessman rather than a soldier.

“Senator Johnson says what he says, and if you want to believe what he says is true, then he has said a lot of things about lots of people here that people can turn up to be true. And some of the things he said to some people – I don’t want to repeat it, and I don’t want to believe that you believe what he said about the person at that time is true,” Senator Koung said.

During an interview with SpoonTV, Senator Jeremiah Koung acknowledged the existence of disagreements with Senator Prince Y. Johnson, stating that their clashes often arise when they hold differing views. Koung explained, “Most of the time when you hear Senator Johnson comes after me, it means that we have disagreements. We disagree a lot. When we disagree, sometimes he comes after me.”

Expressing his support for the establishment of a War and Economic Crime Court, Senator Koung highlighted the necessity of holding individuals accountable for their actions during the war. He firmly stated, “War and Economic Crime Court are necessary. There is a need for people to pay for the crimes they did to people.” Koung further emphasized the importance of scrutinizing unexplained wealth and raising questions about the accumulation of such wealth.
