The music industry is built on credibility and truthfulness, and MC Caro’s claim of having 15 million streams for her song “Baby” has been challenged as a blatant lie. Despite her insistence on the authenticity of the streams, it’s crucial to get to the bottom of this claim and expose the truth. Let’s take a closer look at the data and analyze the numbers to determine the veracity of MC Caro’s 15 million streams claim.
To give her the benefit of the doubt, we analyzed her streams on ten different platforms. After adding up all her streams on top and popular platforms like Audiomack (435.9K), Spotify (21.3K), Boomplay (312.3), and YouTube Music (110K), the total comes to only 879.6K, excluding Apple Music. Not even close to a million streams, let alone 15 million.
Moving on to the other five platforms, namely iTunes Store, Deezer, Napster, Tidal, and Pandora, we couldn’t get any tangible data on the total number of streams. This is because many of these platforms offer paid services, and some are not even available in Liberia or other countries.
For instance, Pandora Music is only accessible in the United States, despite claims that it is available in Australia. The timing could be a possible explanation for the lower number of streams on the last five platforms. It’s worth noting that MC Caro released her song “Baby” in the last quarter of 2022, but it wasn’t available on some of these platforms until more recently in 2023. This could account for the relatively low number of streams on these platforms compared to the earlier ones.
The question remains: if MC Caro could not even get a million streams on popular and free platforms, how could she have earned 15 million streams? It’s simply not possible. How someone can earn 15 million streams on all platforms but each of those platforms does not even have a million streams? How possible is that?
So, let’s not fall for this fake hype and hold artists accountable for their claims. Let’s demand honesty and transparency in the music industry.
