In the last few weeks, the Liberian Senate passed a bill titled; the “pensions and benefits scheme Act.” The intent of the bill is to grant unto themselves, the President, Vice President, and Justices of the Supreme Court, 50 % of their salaries and benefits for life after leaving government.

The Liberian Senate voted upon and passed down to the House of Representatives for concurrent. According to multiple sources, members of the House of Representatives have rejected the bill and returned it back to the Senate.

What’s appalling to the public is to see top government critics like Abraham Darius Dillon affixing his signature to the paper. Although, there is a report that the final document was being tempered.
