Weeks ago, Gary N. Noring, Jr. hit a massive milestone by reaching 100,000 followers on his Gary The Blogger‘s blog page. Gary is a Liberian who began his active blogging career on February 03, 2019. Since then, the blogger has already started as one of the most controversial bloggers in the Liberian entertainment setting.
Gary has been so consistent from the day he started his carrer as a blogger. It is also no doubt that the lad is a blogger who knows how to engage with his audience uniquely.
Reaching 100,000 followers is great, but this achievement has not come easy for the young blogger as he has faced plenty of public battles. Today, Societal Ills will be looking at three of the barriers Gary overcame to reach this feat.
Prone to Grammatical Errors
Gary has heavily received criticisms and provocations for poor grammar usage from the first day of his blogging journey. Gary couldn’t write a post where he didn’t get backlash from his critics about his poorly structured writing.
His faultfinder always held his feet to the fire – ensuring that the blogger observed his writing before posting them for public consumption. Some of his critics used kind words to correct him, while others were the opposite. Words like: “leave blogging,” “you’re not forced to become a blogger,” “blogging is not for everybody” was Gary’s everyday discouragement.
Gary is a resilient guy else; he wouldn’t reach this far. The humiliations were too much, especially for a beginner blogger. But he was persistent in his journey.
It’s no doubt that Gary’s critics were of great help to him. Had he not received those condemnations, probably he couldn’t reach this far with those disjointed writings.
“Double Beating” on an Awards Show
During the 2020 edition of the Tunes Liberia Music Awards show, Gary got slapped in his face for taking an “unauthorized photo” of J. Slaught, one of Liberia’s best male artists. SIK also punched him in the face for posting “disrespectful content” about him and his fiancée. His life was allegedly threatening et al.
What a tragedy that night for the blogger! Gary even revealed that his mother went crying on him when she heard the news on the radio. “This news circulating all over the social media and on the radio stations this morning, my mom was in tears crying holding my legs to stay away from Liberia entertainment industry,” said the blogger.
This nightmare was one of the biggest outrages Gary has faced on the internet. While few top blogs were in solidarity with him, he got trolled by the vast majority.
God first, thanks to Karishma De Queen, NSA Boss, and everyone who resolve the matter.
Gary’s Rape Allegation
On July 27, 2021, Gary N. Noring was automatically disqualified from the Big Brabee House of kukujumuku (a reality TV show in Liberia) for allegedly invading one of his colleagues’ private bodies. He was later arrested by the Liberia National Police that same day.
Gary’s rape allegation caused a stir among social media users and the entire media landscape. There was an argument almost everywhere as to whether the blogger was guilty. A blog was seen predating eight to ten years sentenced for the blogger if found guilty of the charge levied against him.
Mr. Noring was reportedly released on a bill the next day. After investigating the matter, today, Gary The Blogger is now a free man. This incident is the biggest obstacle Gary has overcome in the public space.
Would there be a blog called Gary The Blogger today, had the owner given up? Definitely, there wouldn’t. Gary is the true meaning of “whatever doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” Mr. Noring’s story has a profound lesson that beginner bloggers need to survive in the entertainment setting. Many people couldn’t forge ahead with their careers due to public backlash or other negative trends. With such a massive following, it’s fair to say that Gary is one of the famous bloggers in the industry.
