Are you in search of an easy morning routine that will make your day more effective? Choosing the proper rituals is appropriate for avoiding a wasted or unproductive day.

Nothing feels special than waking up to a more productive day, especially the one that has the power of giving your day the best experience.

Most of us are so busy trying to manage our life “situation” that we don’t take the time to focus on what’s most important—our life.

In this article, I will be listing eight easy morning routines that will make your day more effective.

Why having morning routine is essential?

A morning routine sets the tone for the whole day, and if you do each day right, you’ll do life right. Another great reason to create a morning ritual is to avoid mental fatigue. If you feel sluggish, it will reflect in your activities.

According to Hal Elrod, “how you wake up each day and your morning routine dramatically affects your levels of success in every single area of your life.”

Let’s take a look at eight of the most effortless morning routines that will give you an effective day.

Hydration is crucial when it comes to productivity. Your body is in repair and recovery mode when you are sleeping. During this time, your immune system is complicated at work, ridding your body of toxins. By drinking enough water, you can speed up how the body flushes those toxins.

According to Rania Batayneh, a nutritionist and the author of The One One One Diet, “drinking water as the first thing in the morning helps fuel your brain.” The human brain is made up of 73% water, so staying hydrated is especially important for maintaining optimal brain activity.

Drinking water on an empty can boost your diet and help raise the metabolism by 25%. This method can make the digestion of food becomes better and faster. This method also helps in losing weight.

Drink as much water as you can to reduce your body fat.

2. Offer a Fervent Prayer

Starting your day with a fervent prayer can grant you moments of inspiration and calm. Early morning prayer brings about insight, and it connects your spirit with our Creator, God Almighty.

A moment with God gives you strength. You can define power in various ways – I am talking about spiritual strength. With morning devotional prayer, you get stability in your spirit. Being in sync with God’s will and instructions gives us a clear direction.

One last benefit of early prayer is that it makes you feel grateful for your things. Did you know that over 300 million people suffer from depression? When we have our morning prayer and make a habit of doing so, we get more reasons to push on following what God is teaching us.

3. A few minutes of Meditation

As Matthew Kelly so eloquently states in his bestselling book The Rhythm of Life, “You can learn more in an hour of silence than you can in a year from books.” That’s a powerful statement from a sage man.

The essence of meditation is simply silencing or focusing the mind for some time. You may or may not know all the extraordinary health benefits of meditating. It can alleviate stress and pain, promote sleep, enhance focus and concentration, and even increase lifespan.
Meditation enhances the flow of constructive thoughts and positive emotions. Even a few minutes of regular meditation can make a big difference. Studies conducted at the University of Wisconsin proved that meditation has physiological effects on the brain.

4. Affirmations

Affirmations are meaningful statements that are said with confidence and truth. Affirmations are simple words that can produce healing and regeneration in one’s life. These powerful statements have helped millions of people make significant changes throughout their lives.

Affirmations allow you to design and then develop the mindset (thoughts, beliefs, focus) that you need to take any area of your life to the next level. The benefits of Affirmations are endless. They have helped a multitude of people worldwide achieve great things. However, more importantly, they can help you make positive changes in your life.

We all have negative and unhealthy thoughts about ourselves and how we live our lives at times, which is entirely normal. When spoken or chanted to ourselves, Affirmations have the power to change the way we think and positively act in our lives. They can change our emotions, alter our behaviours, and reassess our beliefs.

5. Exercise

Morning exercise should be a staple in your daily rituals. When you exercise for even a few minutes every morning, it significantly boosts your energy and enhances your health. It also improves your self-confidence and emotional well-being and enables you to think better and concentrate longer.

Research shows that there are a lot of crucial benefits that you can enjoy from a morning exercise that you cannot obtain from any other time of the day. From waking you up and enhancing your mental clarity to helping you sustain higher levels of energy throughout the day.  People who exercise in the morning have more radiant, glowing, and blooming skin than those who exercise in the evening. It is much easier for you to hydrate and wash out your pores during these times, making it beneficial for your skin.

6. Reading

Reading is the fast track to transforming any area of your life. If there’s one habit that almost all high-performers share, it’s that they read books. It is one of the most direct methods for acquiring the knowledge, ideas, and strategies you need to succeed in any area of your life.

One significant benefit of reading in the morning is that you start your day on fire. Reading is way more important than watching TV. When you start your day watching TV, you begin by distracting yourself from what’s important.

The cool thing about books is that you can learn what took the author many years to learn in a few hours. This way, you gain new insights and ideas that can potentially change your life. In almost every book, you will learn something new on the way.

7. Write a note in your journal

Writing in a journal is an act of self-expression periodically to record feelings and inspire ideas. Morning pages serve a deeper purpose. This type of journaling is a cathartic, ritualistic writing process that clears your mind, builds confidence, and creates a path for greater creativity.

Your journal is a private place for you to come as you are and write whatever you’re feeling. When we write things down, we are forced to articulate what we’re feeling.

Journaling is a great way to help with accountability. Writing your goals and aspirations down most likely will help you commit to them and be more likely to achieve them. Expressing yourself and your passions through writing can help you better identify what you want and who you want to be.

Writing in the same place simultaneously can help you solidify morning journaling as part of your daily routine.

8. Eating Breakfast

Breakfast is often called ‘the most important meal of the day, and for a good reason. As the name suggests, breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period. It replenishes your supply of glucose to boost your energy levels and alertness while also providing other essential nutrients required for good health.

Eating breakfast helps you start the day off right because it provides your body with essential vitamins and minerals. It also boosts your energy levels and restores your glycogen levels, ready to keep your metabolism up for the day.

Final Thought

There’s no single right way to practice your morning routine. You can also customize the sequence in which you do these morning routines to your preferences. You don’t need to perform all the above items in a single pattern. You can make a list of what will work for you and put it into consistent practice. Whatever you choose, consistency is critical.
