Monrovia — Opposition figure Henry Costa has named Jefferson Koijee the “most dangerous person” in Liberia, citing concerns over the political future of the opposition community if they don’t stand firm to stop him.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Costa claimed that Koijee, who currently serves as the Chairman of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Youth League, would “murder innocent people” if they [Coast and the opposition community] don’t stop him.

“Jefferson Koijee is the most dangerous person in Liberia. If we, in the opposition, don’t find a way to stop him, he will order the murder of more innocent people and use fear and intimidation to weaken us! He’s the greatest threat to our nation!”

Koijee has been involved in controversy recently with human rights advocate and lawyer Jerome Verdier linking him to the murder of former Chief Justice’s daughter – Charloe Musu.

Although Koijee has denied the claim and offered to give 5,000 USD to anyone who will aid the police investigation, Costa and co are holding onto the belief that Koijee is the doer of the act – something that hasn’t been proven by the court.

The youth league chair has termed the allegation against him as untruth and mere propaganda from members of the opposition community.

The allegations against Koijee come at a time of increasing political tension in Liberia.

As Liberia continues to grapple with these challenges, many are concerned that the country could be on the brink of renewed violence and instability.
