JZyNo, Liberia’s most streamed artist, has expressed his disappointment with the way Liberians show love to their artists when performing on stage.
The trending star was recently in Liberia for a paid performance at the Liberia Film Awards. During and after his performance, JZyNo noticed that Liberians don’t know how to celebrate their stars, and fans sometimes act disrespectfully.
After JZyNo performed his trending song, “Butta My Bread,” he stood up to cheer MC Caro while she was performing. While cheering Caro, JZyNo heard fans yelling at him to sit down.
“I stood up to vibe using my phone to record [MC Caro]. What got to me was people sitting behind me, telling me I should sit down. ‘We want to see, we can’t see.’ That thing shocked me. I was like Jesus; I sit down without saying anything,” JZyNo.

What surprised JZyNo was instead of fans standing to shout and scream at who was performing, they were telling him to sit down.
“Think about this, JZyNo stood up to show love to his artiste, and fans said, ‘excuse me my man please sit down. We can’t see, we want to see.’ We don’t know how to show love to our entertainers in Liberia,” JZyNo said.
JZyNo, an international artist who has performed outside Liberia, said: “Entertainment isn’t sweet in Liberia at all. The love and engagement I get from foreigners are way different from my country.”
He said cheering up an artist gives them the anxiety to perform even better. “Your need to encourage people if your stand to an artist performing a will give that artiste more strong to push higher.”
