The Alternative National Congress political leader —Alexander Cummings — promised to end corruption when elected President of the Republic of Liberia.

According to the ANC leader, his government will fund all integrity institutions responsible for prosecuting corrupt officials and will not interfere in their work.

“In a Cummings’ administration, we will make sure integrity institutions are funded appropriately, and we will not interfere with their work. I don’t want to minimize corruption; I want to eliminate it,” said the ANC Standard Bearer.

Mr. Cumming further noted that, when elected as president, his government will audit Weah’s administration. He will ensure that those who have enriched themselves at the expense of the ordinary Liberian can face the weight of the law. He assured that his government would not attack any personality. They will use the facts to prosecute those that would be guilty of corruption.

“We will initiate an audit of everything we take over, but we will not go after a specific individual on a pick-and-choose basis. Anywhere the fact leads, the law will take its course,” Mr. Cummings continued.

Moreover, the ANC political leader frowned at the Weah administration and blamed them for the high cost of living. He attributed the poor medical care as a result of the stealing of state resources by government officials.

Speaking to Truth FM on Thursday evening, Mr. Cumming said the idea of justifying and blaming the past government for stealing as the reason why people should steal now is carrying our country backward and is counterproductive to the growth and development of Liberia.

According to Mr. Cumming, this is the era Liberians need to change their leader. Noting that if president Weah gets reelected, the current situation that Liberians are facing will escalate to the worst. He said Things would not change because the president has failed the Liberian people for the past five years.

The ANC leader said Liberia should not continue to be a lawless country where people who have committed a crime against the state can walk with impunity. As such, there should be a consequence for every action to curtail the reoccurrence of such offenses.

At the same time, ABC has publicly refuted the allegation that he is gay and wants to introduce gay legislation when elected as president. He said: “it is a lie, it is false and misleading and it is mere propaganda that is intended to tarnish his reputation.”
