The blogging space has seen a massive increase in the numbers of new bloggers over the years – this is so true, especially for the Social Media networks. Creating social media pages is so easy nowadays that anyone can make one and publish content for public consumption.
With this leverage of creating free social media pages, more youths use that means to influence their setting. While some bloggers are striving for the best, many of them are using their platforms to spew out lies and other negativities against public figures.
Benita Urey, the CEO of The Liberian Influence, a popular Liberian blog with about 110,000 followers, has cautioned upcoming bloggers to “be original and bring something new” to the table.
As a public figure who was badly hit by “false stories” in public, Benita has outlined a series of advice that could help new or existing bloggers gain relevance and make a meaningful contribution to society.
A point I am passionate about is, we need to focus on Liberia because the Liberian entertainment scene needs our help more; they need more visibility.”

Here’s what she said:
“Be original; bring something new. Don’t plagiarize. Proofread your work. Also, build relationships and push underground artists. There is so much talent to be discovered. A point I am passionate about is, we need to focus on Liberia because the Liberian entertainment scene needs our help more; they need more visibility.”
