In a compelling show of support transcending borders, Liberian social media influencer based in Canada, Strong Gbana Pekin, has expressed his unwavering support for Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai as his choice for the President of Liberia in the upcoming 2023 Presidential and General Elections.
In his heartfelt message, Pekin reminisces about his initial support for President George Weah and the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) back in 2017, but now, he believes the current administration has diverged from its grassroots principles and embraced elitism and bourgeois mentality.
“In 2017, I strongly subscribed to the grassroot ideology of the Congress for Democratic Change. six years later, President Weah and the CDC have diverted from the grassroot and common man principles and have aligned their personalities with elitism, and bourgeois mentality,” Gbana Pekin wrote.

“I believe that there’s only one amongst the three that would make an effective change in Liberia. I am pledging my support to Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai, former Vice President of the Republic of Liberia,” he said.
In his endorsement, Pekin emphasizes that his support for Boakai is not motivated by financial inducements or personal interests. As a content individual residing in Canada, Pekin is committed to contributing his hard-earned money to the Boakai campaign, making a personal donation of US$1,500.00 (One thousand, five hundred USD) to assist with obtaining campaign materials. Additionally, he urges all Liberians in the diaspora who share his support for the “Rescue ticket” of Boakai and Koung to donate whatever they can to the campaign. Furthermore, Pekin vows to utilize his social media platforms to promote and advocate for the election of the “Rescue Team,” much like he did in 2017 for the CDC.
Throughout his endorsement, Pekin maintains his commitment to refrain from attacking other opposition political parties and candidates, except when rebutting claims from the Careysburg Republic.
