Liberia’s First Division Club, Cece United FC, has disclosed the sacking of its Head Coach, Samuel Sumo, after losing their first three games of the new 2023/24 season.

Samuel Sumo, who joined the Saye Town Boys on July 8, 2022, was relieved of his duties yesterday, September 24, 2023, after losing their third game of the season to LPRC Oilers 3 goals to 1.

Coach Edward Singbe, the assistant coach, has been given the first-team duties until further notice. Cece United’s poor start to the season has kept their fans wondering.

The club played 26 league games last season, which was their debut season, and recorded seven wins, nine draws, and ten losses – securing a Ninth-place finish.

Cece United Official Statement:

“The Management of Cece United has parted ways with Coach Samuel O. Sumo, based on mutual understanding. In his absence, Assistant Coach Edward T.K. Singbe will be in charge of the team until further notice.

We thank Coach Sumo for all his contributions and wish him all the best.”
