Saturday, October 22, was a moment of joy for Aketella — one of Liberia’s versatile entertainers — as he hit an enormous 100,000 followers on Instagram. This milestone comes barely four days after the young influencer thanked his loyal followers for reaching 50,000 organic followers.
The leap in the growth of followers can only be attributed to the tireless and consistent work the blogger has put in over the period.
Who Is Aketella?
Aketella, whose full name is Kerkula Blama, is a multi-talented Liberian blogger, vlogger, On-Air Personality, singer, songwriter, and influencer. He is currently a student at the African Methodist Episcopal University studying Management Major and Public Administration Minor.
KB, as his high-school friends affectionately call him, is the CEO of GEEZ Group of Companies — a company that has birthed others successful cooperation. These institutions include but are not limited to Geez Liberia, Geez Ghana, Geez Nigeria, Geez Sports, Geez Store, and AME University Geez. All of which he is serving as the CEO and founder.
How did everything start?
Way before the name Aketella entered the media landscape, the On Air Personality had always dreamt of becoming an Information Technology specialist. Although life stepped in, and he switched his academic career to Management, that didn’t change the nature of his IT personality.
In alignment with his long-standing plan, the now famous influencer set foot in the entertainment industry as a blogger/writer for one of Liberia’s biggest musical platforms — PlusLiberia, 2016. After testing the ground and knowing full well that he had a greater ambition, Aketella quit PlusLiberia after two years of successful and good working relationships.

On August 28, 2018, Aketella made one of the most significant decisions in his life. That decision was to create a social media page for Geez Liberia formerly Lib Geez. This account was just the first among many institutions that would go on to gain recognition in the African Entertainment setting.
Little did the world know that a guy who once worked for PlusLiberia as a blogger would create several successful businesses in different African countries. Today, his platforms have been in the African Entertainment sectors for years and have made a significant impact on shaping society positively and efficiently.
His Latest Achievement
It will interest you to know that these strives and gains made by Aketella over the years were never about himself but rather his brand (Geez Group of Companies). While fighting to make things happen with the Gees family, Aketella, again, decided to create his personal Instagram account in 2019.
With the considerable burden of managing his brand, the CEO didn’t pay much attention to his page. It was in September of 2021 when he started pushing to engage his followers on a deeper level.
It will amaze you to know that KB took a giant leap from a low 1,253 followers to a massive 100,000 Followers within two months. You are shocked, right? Mr. Blama’s survival in the industry is a life lesson to every beginner who has a dream of making an impact.

Taking to his Facebook page to announce this new achievement, Aketella was out of words as he couldn’t believe what his eyes were seeing. This milestone has begun a dream come true for the entertainer. See what he wrote below:

Conclusion
As a kid who was partly affected by Liberian long-standing civil conflict, and who had to migrate from the nation’s capital to Margibi, Aketella never allowed distance or environment to hold him back from accomplishing his dreams.
We are so proud to see one of ours birthing a company that has institutions in other African Nations. Achieving such an outstanding feat from an underdeveloped country is rare among Africans. Congratulations, Kerkula Aketella Blama!
