Monrovia, Liberia — In the world of entertainment, the concept of brand and reputation is everything. From musicians & actors to filmmakers & producers, the entertainment industry is built upon the foundation of perception and image.
But what happens when this image is tarnished by people who expect you to respect theirs?
Liberia’s most decorated videographer, Jackie Russ, recently spoke out about this issue, stating that hypocrisy is wanting others to respect your brand while disrespecting the brand of others.
“Hypocrisy is wanting others to respect your brand while disrespecting the brand of others,” Jackie Russ wrote.
This powerful statement highlights a fundamental flaw in the entertainment industry, where artists and industry professionals often engage in behavior that is contradictory to their public image.
Jackie Russ’ statement comes as a result of the criticisms he and CIC have received since CIC released his song video, “Don’t Give Up On Me.”
The “Don’t Give Up On Me” video was produced by Jackie Russ and directed by CIC – the artist for the song.

Although the video has gotten 16K views on YouTube seven days after it was released, several other people have taken to social media to call out Jack Russ and CIC for writing poor storylines to describe the song.
Patrick, a Facebook user, praised the song but condemned the video – saying the video is “wack” and doesn’t represent an A-list artist.
While Jackie is not too concerned about what the fans are saying, he is critical that people with brands should stop castigating others.
While it is good to have your opinion, it is also good for you to stop being pretentious. But as Jackie Russ points out, hypocrisy is a dangerous game that ultimately leads to a loss of respect, credibility, and support.
