Weeks after a Liberian entertainment blog — Morning Gees — broke the news about Christoph’s terrible condition, there have been many controversies in the media.
Key entertainment stakeholders like MC Caro have squarely blamed Christoph for allowing himself to be used by drugs, while others have laid this terrible ordeal to the death of his mother.
Amid the claims and counter-claims, Christoph’s older — Jackie Russ — has finally opened up on the issues affecting his little brother.
In separate social media posts, Jackie Russ has expressed frustration seeing his brother go down and become the subject of media discussion for the wrong reasons.

“Chris problems started when he left Logan Town about eight years ago and have been battling addiction way before mom died,” Jackie elaborated.
He continued, “it breaks my heart to see such a talented young man being a slave to substance.” After this comment caught so much attention on the internet, Jackie has given more reasons why Chris’ condition has “escalated” to this terrible level.
Here is how he started: “Chris’ problems seriously escalated when mom died. I think somehow he lost it when he realized her only wish of wanting a house for the family was never realized until she died.
He had so much faith in his fame, music, and talents.”
According to Jackie, things went out of control when Chris noticed that his music couldn’t fulfill mummy’s dream of having a house before her demise.
“When things went far left, he lost faith in music, blamed the lack of support from his followers and the entertainment industry at large. My assumption of this comes after series of conversations and questions he asked me back then.” — Jackie Russ.
Why Jackie Russ couldn’t fully agree with his brother for blaming others for his unfortunate condition, he also had his disappointment with the low-level Liberians show when it comes to Liberian arts and culture. His writing included the national government and all stakeholders involved.

When things went far left, he lost faith in music and blamed the lack of support from his followers and the entertainment industry at large. My assumption of this comes after a series of conversations and questions he asked me back then, “why musicians don’t go forward in this country?”, “What happened to all the legendary musicians that have been serving this country?” “Why my own people don’t like me?” and a lot more.
Blaming the industry and lack of support other than oneself may be irresponsible and selfish but a lot of us in the creative sector can bear witness to how much humiliation we receive on a daily basis.
People expect so much from us, providing little to no support. Let’s not forget how super-talented people have to struggle with little opportunities, zero funding, logistics, and a framework to expand their skills and take them to the next level.
We are given awards without incentives, networks, or opportunities, and our brands are constantly devalued by our own people on a daily basis.
In other countries, the government provides funding for the creative sector but down here, everything is politics.
We lack access to international payment systems and services that could assist creative people and help boost the economy.
I want to take this time to appreciate everyone that has reached out to me and [my] family. Do not worry about me, pls keep my brother in your prayers.
It’s a hard time we all believe in our country, ourselves, and our fellow countrymen.
If we that are up here fall, it leaves a lot of people more hopeless. I’m sad but hopeful.”
