Police in Gbarnga, Bong County, have brought charges against a 25-year-old man, James Cole, for the alleged murder of a motorcyclist in the County. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect murdered Survivor Kamara in order to steal his motorcycle.
The incident, which took place in Negbala Town, involved a violent struggle between Cole and Kamara over the ownership of the motorcycle. It is reported that Cole used a cutlass during the altercation, resulting in a fatal injury to Kamara’s neck. The assailant then fled the scene with the stolen bike.
Cole’s capture occurred when he was found with the stolen motorcycle in Negbala Town. Prior to his apprehension, he had resisted cooperation with the police, further arousing suspicion.
Fasu Sheriff, the Commander of the Bong County Police Detachment, stated, “Suspect Cole overpowered the deceased after a prolonged tussle over the motorcycle, inflicting a deep cutlass wound on Kamara’s neck in the process.” Sheriff added that a coroner’s report attributed Kamara’s death to a severe cut on the back of his neck.
As the case proceeds through the legal system, authorities will be under pressure to ensure justice is served for the victims and their families. The communities are closely following the developments, hoping for a fair resolution and the establishment of a safer environment for all residents.
