Rep Gray

Monrovia — Days after announcing his much-publicized lunch at the University of Liberia, Representative Moses Acarous Gray’s appearance yesterday led to many wounded and severely injured.

How It Started?

It all started when an official of the CDC government – Aloysius Howe – was allegedly attacked by members of the Student Unification Party (SUP) about six days ago at UL.

In the video, people believed to be SUP members were chanting “rogue, rougue” behind Mr. Howe. It was also reported that SUP members allegedly damaged Mr. Howe’s vehicle and caused him bodily injury.

Aloysius Howe’s situation was one of the many situations that students, specifically from the Student Unification Party, have carried out against top government officials.

These students have constantly booed and chased top government officials like VP Jewel Howard-Taylor, Mr. Samuel Tweh, Serena Cephus, and others.

Hours after SUP allegedly attacked Mr. Howe, Rep Gray instantly announced a lunch at the University campus. Mr. Gray has been noted as a person who never bows down.

There have been claims and counter-claims from SUP and Gray’s camp about this publicized lunch.

Rep Gray Entry

Monday, March 13, 2023, General Gray, as he is famously called, led a group of men at the campus. As Gray and his team walk towards the campus, people begin trooping into the crowd.

Before they could enter the campus, what believe to be a lunch turned into chaos as SUP members and the Gray team enter a battle of supremacy. There were stones thrown, and the entire campus was upside-down.

Rep Gray manages his way through the campus after the first riot. He made a remark right after his entry.

“I am not here to prove anything to University students. They are not my target. Those are my sons, my daughters, and my family members. They voted for me also.” Rep. Gray said.

“I am even disappointed in some people in the fourth estate who will call me and tell me don’t go there for the sake of peace, but you cannot call our sons and daughters not to throw stones.”

He added, “No man, no soul will break the laws of Liberia and go scot-free. They said they were bringing Yekeh here, I was excited that Yekeh would be here today, and I am still excited; the reason is this: it means that the day he’s having program in his District, the same spot I will be there that day. There will be maximum political repository.”

Hon Yekeh Kolubah Arrival

An hour after Rep Gray successfully took over the territory of UL, the student group resurfaced, this time around, with Representative Yekeh Kolubah – a tough critic of Weah’s government.

When Yekeh and SUP arrived, Hon Gray had no other option but to escape the campus through the entry leading to Stella Maris University.

With all that happened yesterday, many students were hurt, and so much damage was caused. We are yet to hear a statement from the Liberia National Police at the time of this writing.
