- Recent statements by Sen Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and Vice Standard Bearer Jeremiah Koung spark debate about Joseph Boakai potentially being a “parked car” as Liberia’s president.
- Sen Nyonblee suggests advising Boakai to refrain from campaign activities until his induction into office.
- CDC members criticize Unity Party’s stance, arguing that Boakai’s ill health makes him unfit to lead, comparing him to a “parked car” for the second time.
Recent statements from Sen Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and Vice Standard Bearer Jeremiah Koung suggesting that they would instruct Joseph Boakai to sit and watch them campaign have sparked up a debate that Boakai could be a “parked car” even as president of Liberia.
Honoring the Legislative staff endorsement held for the Boakai-Koung ticket on Tuesday, Sen Nyonblee said she would advise the Unity Party’s Standard Bearer to stay away from campaign activities and wait for his induction in office.
In addition to Sen Nyonblee’s assertion, Sen Koung also buttressed her statement by saying, “we’ll tell oldman Boakai to sit down, we’ll go across this country. Each of us sitting here knows how to campaign. We’ll sleep in the car up to October 10.”
While the Unity Party’s supporters cheered the two leaders, their detractors took to the internet to bash for wanting to over-function Joe Boakai. Cdcians have insinuated that the Unity Party’s folks don’t want him to form a part of the campaign process because of his ill health.
According to Cdcians, because he isn’t well to campaign for himself, he would not be well to lead the country even if the Unity Party wins the election – thereby making him a “parked car” for the second time.
