Monrovia — The Liberian National Police has arrested an elderly man in Nimba county for allegedly pouring undiluted acid on his wife on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Top media outlets’ correspondents residing in the county posted the news during the late evening hours of Tuesday. According to reports, Cooper Siaway committed the act during an argument between him and his wife, Yei Wayean, Friday in Behplay.
He accused his wife of having extra affairs with another man, something that caused him to spill acid on her private part. Correspondents reported that he got angry because his woman refused him in bed, which he said he could no longer bear.

Reports also say this brings to two; the number of cases involving the accused, as eyewitness accounts, show the perpetrator often inflicts major injuries on his wife.
The victim is currently seeking treatment at the Karnplay Health Center, while Cooper Siaway is in police custody pending trial.
Meanwhile, Mr. Siaway, during the police preliminary investigation, admitted to committing the act.
The incident took place in Barplay District #4 Nimba County. It has not been reported how critical this is to the victim’s well-being. We await the police investigation on this matter.
