- Senator Johnson accused top government officials, including Jewel Howard-Taylor and Taylor Koijee, of orchestrating the disruption, and warned that he would retaliate against any attempts to harm him.
- The Unity Party, led by Joseph Boakai, condemned the violent incident and expressed support for Senator Johnson, highlighting his decision to distance himself from the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change government.
Yesterday, a group believed to be members of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) stormed the edifice of Prince Johnson’s church – Christ Chapel of Faith Ministry – in Paynesville causing havoc among the church members and the public at large.
Their action caused Senator Prince Johnson’s members to flee the church in fear for their lives as the youth group went there chanting “War Crime Court.”
Jewel Howard-Taylor, during an endorsement program, labeled Prince Jonhson as a killer, and the senator promised to reply to her during his regular services hour. He invited the public to his regular worship hours. He also alerted plans from members of the CDC to disrupt his service.
The head of the protestors, Peter Blidii, said they had gone to the church because the senator had planned to “velify” their vice standard bearer, Jewel Howard-Taylor.
“We are here because Senator Johnson had promised to vilify the standard bearer of the NPP, Jewel Howard-Taylor. We don’t fight war, we fight intellectually and today it’s a historic day. We are here with men and women of the National Patriotic Party,” Peter said.
He continued: “We are here to worship with Prince Johnson and to also let him know that the NPP is a radical Political Party.”

“In as much as he used his Facebook page to give a hint that he was going to vilify our Political Leader, we are here too to call for War Crimes Court because we know he’s a murderer.”
After the youth group forced the senator to cancel his service, he had a press conference to explain what has transpired. He accused top government officials as the brain behind his service disruption.
“You witnessed what happened, you were there, it is not something that I am telling you. I just only want to overemphasize what we all saw. What I heard from one them over saying it is Jewel Howard- Taylor instructed them along with Koijee to come and disrupt the church, fight us, and wound the people. I am the target,” he said.
“I want to say thanks to Police Director Patrick Sudue. When I called, I couldn’t get him, I sent him a text then they sent police instead of the police rushing to the church. They stood at the junction at LBS, so when those boys finished doing the job now, if they have kill then they will come.”
According to Senator Johnson, he was reportedly warned by a senior member Executive Protection Service (EPS) prior to the attack on his church to beef up his personal security as the CDC- led government recalibrated through the straight orders from Vice President Taylor Koijee to hit him after the previous plan failed.
“I am 70, you think I will die out of trouble, whoever hunts me will die. I know Jefferson Kailee’s house, I know these people’s houses. If you can hunt me, my people choose to hunt you. It is not conflict. We don’t want conflict. We beg you let us exercise our freedom well, he warned.
Amid the situation, the Unity Party through its standard bearer, Joseph Boakai, has condemned the NPP youth for carrying out their act of disturbance against Senator Johnson.
“The Unity Party strongly condemns the disruptive and violent incident that took place during a church service at the Christ Chapel of Faith, perpetrated by thugs of the Coalition for Democratic Change,” said the former ruling party, which is now headed by former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai.
“It is important to note that the church is led by Senator Prince Johnson, a respected religious leader, and prominent political figure who recently distanced himself from the CDC government due to its failure to implement beneficial policies for the people.”
