Prince Johnson & Pres. Weah

Monrovia — The president of the Republic of Liberia has fired back at Prince Johnson days after the Nimba County senator accused the president and his administration of murdering innocent souls.

Senator Johnson, in the last couple of days, has gained media attention on a couple of trending national issues. On January 24, 2023, the senator shocked the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) government when he announced his party’s withdrawal from entering into negotiations with Weah’s regime.

He cited numerous reasons for his party’s withdrawal, ranging from the government’s refusal to give the people of Nimba County top governmental jobs to the government’s refusal to pay debts owed to the county. Read the full story through the below link.

Fast forward to January 29, 2023, the senator again made lots of derogatory statements against President George Weah and his regime. He accused the government of killing the four auditors that died mysteriously.

He mentioned the EPS officer that died in Nimba County. He talked about the four missing boys and a lot more. Read the full story through the below link.

Liberia: Prince Johnson Accused the Weah’s Administration of Serial Killing

After all these negative declarations from Prince Johnson, he further accused the government of a plan to assassinate him because of what he revealed to the public. It seems like the president has kept track of all these statements and was waiting for the appropriate time to respond.

Yesterday, February 5, 2023, President Weah used his church pulpit to fire back at Sen. Johnson. He labels the senator a blackmailer who wants to collect money from him before declaring a negotiation with his party.

President Weah denied the allegation made by Sen. Johnson about a purported plan to assassinate him (Sen. Johnson). The Liberian president called Prince Johnson a killer who is passing around manipulating people.

“Anybody that does not want to vote for us, or anybody that asked me for money before declaring for my party, I rather give the money to the Liberian people because I don’t need a blackmailer,” said President Weah.

“Do I look like someone who can kill somebody? Who are you for somebody to assassinate? Are you infallible?” President Weah rhetorically asked. The president ended by making it clear that anyone who doesn’t want to work with him can park on the side.

It is not clear how Sen. Johnson will react to the president’s statement. What’s clear here is the senator will surely reply to the Liberian president.
