Liberia: Senator Nyonblee Urges Women to Support Boakai-Koung Ticket for Liberia’s Future

Monrovia — Senator Nyonblee Karngar-Lawrence, the chairperson of the women’s legislative caucus and a prominent female political leader made a passionate plea to the women of Liberia to unite and support the Boakai-Koung ticket for the betterment of the country. Addressing a gathering in Grand Bassa County, Senator Karngar-Lawrence emphasized the significance of women’s participation and their ability to shape Liberia’s future.

Highlighting her own accomplishments as a two-term senator and the first female representative of Grand Bassa County, Senator Karngar-Lawrence called upon all women to join her in embracing Joseph Boakai and Jeremiah Koung, the two individuals on the ticket. She acknowledged that no ticket is perfect but stressed that Boakai and Koung were proud sons gifted to the nation by two humble and struggling women.

“As mothers of the land, I call on you all to join me to embrace our children, our two fine sons, Joseph and Jeremiah, so that we can collectively rescue our country,” stated Senator Karngar-Lawrence. She believed that the collective blessing and support of the mothers would bring success to the family, and by extension, to the nation.

Senator Karngar-Lawrence’s endorsement of the Boakai-Koung ticket aimed to mobilize women across Liberia, highlighting the critical role they played in nation-building. She urged women to actively contribute to setting a new agenda for the country by supporting the ticket’s vision of “THINK LIBERIA, LOVE LIBERIA, and BUILD LIBERIA.” The senator emphasized that this was an opportunity to collectively rescue the nation and regain its lost image.

With her acceptance of the role as the “Mother on the Rescue Team,” Senator Karngar-Lawrence symbolized the unity and strength of women in Liberia’s political landscape.

“So, as mothers of the land, I call on you all to join me to embrace our children, our two fine sons, Joseph and Jeremiah, so that we can collectively rescue our country. And you know as well as I do, when we, the mothers, bless our children, God Almighty usually brings success to the family. Amb. Boakai and Senator Koung have asked me to be the Mother on the Rescue Team; and I, representing the women and girls on this rescue mission, wholeheartedly accept the offer.”
