Senator Prince Johnson, the political leader of the opposition MDR Political party and representative of Nimba County, confirmed that his voice is on a viral audio circulating on social media. However, he vehemently asserted that the audio has been doctored, dismissing it as mere propaganda aimed at sowing confusion within the unified opposition collaboration.

During a news conference at his Duport-road residence, Senator Johnson criticized the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) for resorting to what he deemed “weak propaganda.” He accused them of piecing together two statements made under different circumstances to create a misleading narrative.

“It is unfortunate that the CDC would choose to resort to such weak propaganda,” Senator Johnson stated. He clarified that his initial comment, made on Spoon Talk, was specifically directed at Senator Nyounblee Kanrnga-Lawrence, a potential candidate for the position of running mate to Ambassador Boakai.

Senator Johnson went on to recount an altercation between Senator Kanrnga-Lawrence and Senator Saah Joseph, where hot tea was spilled on Senator Joseph. Johnson clarified that he has been a consistent supporter of Senator Koung and would never make negative remarks about him. In fact, he emphasized that he is the chair of the governing council of the MDR, and it was his recommendation that led to Koung being considered for the position of running mate to Ambassador Boakai.

The audio that has gone viral features Senator Johnson allegedly criticizing Senator Jeremiah Koung, suggesting that he is aggressive and arrogant, making him unsuitable for the position of Vice President to Unity Party standard-bearer Joseph Nyumah-Boakai.

Regarding other matters, Senator Johnson emphasized his role as the face of Nimba County and vowed to secure the County’s support for former Vice President Boakai, regardless of the actions taken by the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC). As the audio continues to circulate on social media, Senator Johnson remains steadfast in his denial of its authenticity, reiterating that it is a misleading product of political propaganda.
