Monrovia — The Spoon Talk, one of the nation’s premier talk shows, has faced a massive blow after losing four members in a single day.

During the earlier hours of February, Ben Sanvee, Tomalin George, Henry Peabody, and Keff Hansan all tendered their resignations after three years of good working relationships.

They sent in their resignation, citing an ”internal disagreement on the way forward and direction of the institution” as the reason to distance themselves from the platform.

Their resignations come barely three weeks since the US government indicted their CEO for allegedly selling fake nursing licenses worth over $114 million.

On January 25, 2023, the federal court of the US Justice Department of the United States of America charged Stanton Witherspoon and 24 others with a crime that could see him spend 20 years in prison if found guilty.

Although the CEO has expressed calm and optimism in his recent statements about the court proceeding, the resignation of his trusted guys only further deepened his wounds(the court case).

Amid the four panelists’ resignations, only one of the original panelists has remained on the show, with Stanton Witherspoon distancing himself from the media while fighting his case.

“FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A little over 3 years ago, we joined forces to build what ultimately became one of the biggest platforms in the Liberian media landscape. We build bridges of trust not out of the thought of perfection, but because we believed in contributing to the greater good of our nation.

We forged bonds of friendship and believed we were one family. It is well documented and publicized that the core foundation of Spoon Talk was affected when an indictment was announced against CEO Stanton Witherspoon.

We’ve chosen not to speak to the merits of his case because we have absolute confidence in the United States Justice system. We wish Mr. Witherspoon and his family well and pray for the best, cognizant of the magnitude of the crimes he’s been accused of.

With that being said, due to internal disagreement on the way forward and direction of Spoon Talk, we’ve made the difficult decision to terminate our association with the platform.

This decision was not an easy one, but we can assure our many fans and supporters that this will not be the last time you will hear from us. We will inform you in due time of our next plans as we all strive to see a better and prosperous LIBERIA.

God bless you all.

-Chairman Ben Sanvee

-Chief St Tomalin Nyenwolo George, I.

-Dr. Henry Peabody

-Keff Hassan”

Could this be the right time for all this to happen, especially where their former boss is fighting court case? Let’s hear from you in the comment section.
