Monrovia — The newly appointed head coach of the Liberia national team has promised to do his utmost best to make the national team a serious competitor. He listed strategies like building his team around local-based players with the help of foreign-based players.
Coach Keita is optimistic that Liberians will get the desired result when everything works as planned. Ansu Keita made the declaration during his official unveiling ceremony yesterday.
Ansu Keita, who was hired for a monthly $5,000 salary, has also clarified that he is not going to manufacture results. It’s either the team plays to win or lose. The coach was confident in outlining things that he hope to achieve with the national team.
“I was born here. I grew up here. I will stay here. I will do my best. I am not God. But I will do my best. People who doubt me, I love them. People who criticize me, they’re the best,” Coach Keita said.

He continued: “They make me work hard. They keep my feets on fire so I can work . I will do my best and I will never disappoint my country. Either we get the results or not , all depends how we prepare ourselves. But I’m very sure that Liberian’s will laugh again.”
Based on his previous with the Liberian under-17 team, many fans have placed their trust in the newly appointed coach. They have absolute confidence that the Coach will succeed.
Coach Keita’s strength will be tested when the Lonestar start to play their qualifying matches for the African Cup of Nation. Liberia is in a three-men zone with Morocco and South Africa.
