A Liberian under-17 football medic, Anthony Roberts, who went missing during the country’s friendly matches in Austria was seen during the weekend smiling in a photo with presidential aspirant Alexander B. Cummings in Germany.
On June 22, 2022, a 31-man delegation of the Liberia Football Association under-17 football team arrived in Austria for several friendly matches. Among these men were LFA officials, players, team medics, etc.
Media institutions reported that the Liberia Football Association (LFA) through its vice president, Roland Konneh informed the public on June 26 of the disappearance of two of its members – Anthony Roberts and Alex Nelson.
Roland Konneh is the first vice president of the Liberia Football Association and he was the head of the Liberian delegation in Austria.
“The Liberia Football Association announces the disappearance of the men’s under-17 medic Anthony Roberts and equipment manager Alex Nelson in Austria.
Roberts and Nelson couldn’t be found after the under-17’s 3-0 victory over First Vienna FC’s under-17 and under-18 on 26 June.
Police in Vienna were immediately informed by Vice President Sekou Konneh, who is head of the delegation.”
Barely two weeks after this news broke up, the former Liberian under-17 medic was seen chilling with Mr. Cummings in Germany.
Alexander B. Cummings is a Liberian politician who is currently in Germany having a series of engagements with Liberians in that part of the world.
During one of his meetings with Liberians, Anthony Roberts was seen in a photo chilling with the Liberian politician.
Since Anthony’s photos stormed the internet, we are yet to know the next plan of action the Liberia Football Association will take against Anthony and his colleague Alex.
