Nigerian singer Ruger has sent shocked waves in his recent interview with BBC 1xtra about a man in Kenya claiming to be him. Video of the Kenyan man, who is widely known as Fake Ruger, has been hosting shows in different parts of Kenya and shutting down events with massive crowds pulling in.
While “Fake Ruger” has been pulling out these crowds, reports have been circulating the internet about Ruger’s reaction to a man who fans claimed is trying to bring Ruger down.
As most fans expected Ruger to take the Kenyan man to court, the young celebrity took an upward turn in his recent interview with BBC 1xtra. As the journalist asked him about his thoughts concerning Fake Ruger, he replied saying, “I’m happy for him. He’s promoting my songs.”
He encouraged his fans to calm down and allow Fake Ruger to huster in peace. Read his full words below:
Ruger Words: “I wish him [‘Fake Ruger’] well, man. I’m happy for him. I won’t shut him down. He’s making his P’s [money]. Everybody must eat.
“My team called my attention to the impersonator but I said man is just trying to hustle. He’s actually promoting my songs in a way because he is not making his own songs and saying it’s Ruger that made the songs.
“He is singing mine, so at the end of the day, they will go back to their houses and stream those songs. That’s the most important thing. Everybody should calm down.”
