Liberia’s top female rapper — MC Caro — is yet again in the news with another controversial post. The rap giant took to social media to announce the CD version of her trending EP — my way.
In her post, she created a new room for contention when she said the only benefits they get from those streaming platforms were exposure and a wider audience. Although thousands of musicians have always encouraged their fans to stream their music, Caro says they don’t get anything good from all those streams.
Her message was vehemently rejected by a couple of descending opinions in less than an hour. The musician has deleted every comment that opposed her claim and even blocked those commenters. How sad! The musician whose name has always been tied to controversies; the most recent one was the Kizz Daniel concert.

At the time of this writing, MC Caro’s post is currently not accepting comments. She has restricted every access that people had to make an input. Initial comments under her post supported selling out a CD but also rejected her claims that Streams don’t come with monetary value.
“Got like 500 CDs of my new project Myway on sale for 10$ please buy and play in your car,” Caro wrote. “Streaming don’t bring anything good we just do it for exposure and a wider audience.”
Contrary to MC Caro’s claims, Kobazzie was heard on a local radio station in Monrovia telling journalists that he earns on every song the fans stream on those platforms.
Kobazzie is one of the faces of the Liberian music industry. He’s one of the few Liberian musicians who have collaborations with foreign artists (Davido, Stone Boy, etc.).
