On April 09, 2022, Josephine SK Zumo (host of the famous “Coffee With JoJo” show), along with her team, had a very emotional interview with young men and women usually called “Zogos”. The interview was held in the ghetto, where they explained the conditions they were faced with.

In Liberia, “Zogos” are disadvantaged youths usually involved with taking harmful substances (illegal drugs) or people involved in criminal activities. In the interview, lots of underprivileged youths explained their terrible ordeal with drugs, and they discussed how difficult it was for them to still away from those harmful substances all by themselves.

Of all the people who got an interview that day, one person stole the show from the rest of the other interviewees – “The Zogo Rap Boy”. Although everyone who had the chance to talk said something important, “Zogo Rap Boy” used the occasion to show the world his talent through rap music.

Rap Boy did three different freestyles that got the host of the show and all the online viewers going wild in amusement. Barely a week since that interview, “Zogo Rap Boy’ has gained so much admiration from high-profile people and top media outlets in the country.

One of these people is Skinny Boy Kpanto, “The Street President”. Kpanto is one of the most trending Liberian artists right now in the country. The musician who is acquainted with having many hit songs has never ceased to admire Zogo Ray Boy since he listened to the kid freestyle.

On April 13, 2022, the “Street President” paid a surprise visit to one of his citizens (Rap Boy) and requested him to participate on a track with him. With no hesitation, the kid was so much happy and agreed to the President’s request.

I came across this young talented man freestyle three days ago on Facebook, and it touched my heart; I got so emotional listening to him explaining his story through rap. He’s one of the victims of the bad drugs that are taking this generation down the drain. He made mistakes, and his mistakes got him addicted, and his addiction turned him into one of these people we call zogo.

I paid him a surprise visit yesterday, and I told him I would love to put him on a song where he is going to be able to explain his story better and also send some message out there to people like him and also to the entire nation and people that look down on people like him, he was so happy and said yes, he wants to do it.

I brought him to my house, and we did one of the best songs I have ever heard. The song title is Zogo, the song talks about bad drugs, and it also talks about how good people out there are making the same mistakes he made.

Let’s stop looking down on these people. Nobody is a zogo; the people who allow these harmful drugs in our sweet little country are the “Zogos”.

He’s so talented, and I pray that he gets out of this song. This man is the next best “Hip Co Artist of the Year.

Three days after this new song announcement, “The Street President” took to his official Facebook page yesterday, April 17, 2022, to drop the links (Audiomack and YouTube) to the full song.

With the massive promotion from Kpanto himself, the song hit 1000 streams in less than an hour and over 5000 streams in less than eight hours on Audiomack.

What’s impressive about Kpanto is that he has never hidden his feeling since the day he listened to Rap Boy freestyle, and he has posted an alert about this song consistently on his social media pages.

Rap Boy is just one person – there are thousands of people in the ghettos like this talented kid. Kpanto is preaching a message to everyone that “we rise by lifting others”. If the other guys can get similar assistance to Zogo Rap Boy’s, I think our nation will be a better place.

This is not just a mere song; this is something that’s happening in real life, something our brothers, sisters and children out there are going through out here in different communities and neighbourhoods…

The story of Zogo Rapboy touched every little part of me, and it pushed me to do this song. Thank God for leading me to do this because I have seen and listened to so many sorrowful stories from people out there, but I didn’t do anything, so I believe all this is God’s work

It was so great meeting “Zogo Rapboy”, and doing this song with him was one of the best decisions I have made so far. I love him like a brother; he’s a talented individual despite his situation; I pray to God to bless my hands so that I can do more for him and others like him.
