  • Sidiki Kromah, the MVP of the Liberia Football Association 2021/2022 league season, raises concerns about Liberian players’ lack of ambassadorial deals.
  • He questions why local companies in Liberia are not signing endorsement deals with homegrown talent.
  • Sidiki emphasizes the importance of such partnerships for player growth and development and calls for improvements in the lives of Liberian players.

In a heartfelt social media post, Sidiki Kromah, the current Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2021/2022 league season and a key player for Invincible Eleven (IE), has raised a critical question: “What should we (Liberian Players ⚽) do to sign an Ambassadorial Deal with a Company in Liberia?” Sidiki’s inquiry highlights the frustration and challenges faced by Liberian players in securing lucrative sponsorship agreements with local companies.

Sidiki, a prominent figure in Liberian football, expressed his dismay over the apparent lack of opportunities for homegrown talent, despite the presence of various companies within the country. He pointed out the significance of endorsements, specifically from industries such as cellphone companies, water companies, and oil companies, stressing their potential to contribute to the growth and development of players. Sidiki emphasized that Liberian players should not need to seek opportunities abroad in countries like Ghana, Nigeria, or South Africa.

“We have so many Companies in Liberia, yet we can’t find Liberian Players signing deals with any of them. You don’t have to visit Ghana, Nigeria, or South Africa before you know these things are important to the growth of the players.”

In his impassioned plea, Sidiki highlighted the need for comprehensive support to improve the lives of Liberian players and urged fellow footballers to showcase their abilities. He expressed concern about the prevailing situation during the off-season, revealing that 70% of clubs fail to meet their players’ financial obligations.

“So many things need to be put in place for Liberian Players to have better lives.
Let footballers show something too ! Now it’s off-season and 70% of the clubs aren’t paying their players,” the MVP wrote.

Sidiki’s sentiment resonates with the broader goal of creating a sustainable and thriving football environment in Liberia. As Sidiki raises his voice, the hope is that his plea will ignite conversations and actions aimed at empowering and supporting Liberian players on their journey to success.
