In a recent social media post, EKJ The Comedian, a prominent Liberian comedian in the entertainment industry, expressed concern over the reception of JZyno’s Video by Liberians and Liberian blogs.
The post highlighted the absence of negative criticism from Nigerian, Ghanaian, and Cameroonian blogs, pointing out that “it’s only within Liberia that negative opinions seem to be prevalent.”
The comedian made the comment under a popular Liberian blog called Liberian Music Industry. “I haven’t seen any Nigerian, Ghanaian, or Cameroonian blog degrading Jzyno video but Liberians only,” the comedian painfully wrote.
He further asserted that Liberians who are always holding them accountable for pushing their game at the higher end are always in the constant habit of pulling them back to the ground.
“Why the same people that want to see us out there keep bringing us down?, It’s scaring for even us that want to make a move if my country can’t have my back who will?”

EKJ’s message reflects the frustration of entertainers who aspire to represent their country on an international stage, only to encounter discouraging criticism from their own nation’s media outlets. EKJ’s post sheds light on a recurring issue faced by celebrities striving to gain recognition beyond their borders.
In an era where social media and online platforms play a pivotal role in shaping public opinion, the influence of blogs and online commentary cannot be underestimated. The impact of negative narratives originating from within a country can hinder an artist’s confidence and discourage them from pursuing their dreams on a larger scale.
EKJ’s words resonate with many stars who grapple with the challenge of receiving support and encouragement from their homeland. The paradox of wanting to make a positive impact on their country while facing skepticism within its own borders can be emotionally paining.
